Who says an inexpensive bottle of wine cannot be a popular choice?
If you buy a $2.00 bottle of wine, does that make you any less of a wine connoisseur? Some purists would say "yes", but the majority of wine lovers would say, "If it tastes good and you like it, go for it!"
Here is an example. In a trendy part of Chicago, one of the upscale gourmet grocery and liquor markets sells a wine called "Two Buck Chuck"; and, they cannot keep their shelves stocked with Chuck. Actually, it is a Charles Shaw wine but due to its value price tag, it received the nickname of "Two Buck Chuck". The Charles Shaw wine varieties include a Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz.
This informally named wine is making its mark on the wine market here in Chicago, as well its other 150 stores across the country.
Wine lovers are all about flavor, bouquet, and vintage; and, they expect to pay the price. However, "Two Buck Chuck" has crossed these lines and is finding its way on many of the fanciest upscale restaurants as well as the elegant dining tables in the home.
"Two Buck Chuck" has given birth to a new slogan..."good wines could come with a cheap price tag!"
